According to Timo Lätti, Technical Manager of Köyliön-Säkylän Sähkö Oy, the expansion will strengthen the area's electricity distribution capacity.

"The improved level of protection and automation will increase the safety and security of electricity distribution. Construction at the substation will begin in early spring and the expansion will be put into operation at the end of the year," says Lätti.

The project will construct a new switchgear building, where a modern air-insulated 20 kV switchgear will be installed. The new switchgear will be integrated into the existing system and into the second main transformer. The supply from the main transformer PT2 will be transferred to a new supply cell, and the new and old switchgear will be combined to operate as a single unit. The contract also includes a new reactor and compensation equipment, as well as all necessary earthworks and construction works.

Project Manager Ilmari Mäntysalo thanks Köyliön-Säkylä Electricity for their trust.

"It's great to be able to launch our first joint project. We get to utilize our expertise and implement a technically and economically sound entity. This project strengthens our position as a reliable and versatile partner for substation deliveries," Mäntysalo estimates.
