Suitable for Demanding Conditions
Power and precision through electric cylinder technology. The EG3000M is a high-performance motor controller developed for controlling pole-mounted disconnectors, representing the latest technology in the field. Instead of traditional rotary motors, the EG3000M is based on a linear “electric cylinder” that delivers a consistent and powerful push and pull force of 2,500 newtons throughout the entire stroke. This ensures reliable operation even in demanding conditions, such as when ice or debris places additional load on the mechanism.
Millimetre-level positioning accuracy. Unlike conventional motor controllers, the EG3000M measures and controls motion speed and position with millimetre precision. Real-time position data of the disconnector is transmitted to the control room, eliminating uncertainty regarding the success of control operations. The actuation time is optimised to approximately 1–2 seconds, providing an ideal balance between fast operation and mechanical durability.
Maintenance-free design for extreme conditions. The EG3000M is built to withstand harsh Nordic winters, with an operating temperature range down to -40°C. Its mechanical design is highly robust and maintenance-free, significantly reducing lifecycle costs for the network. Integration with the EG3000P control unit enables continuous diagnostics, where the force applied by the motor and movement speed are constantly monitored, ensuring the reliability of critical power distribution infrastructure in all conditions.
EG3000P
Intelligent Remote Control Unit
The brain and communication hub of the system, the EG3000P is a high-performance remote control unit designed for Nordic conditions, serving as the intelligent core of the entire switching automation system. It does not merely transmit commands; it actively monitors and analyses the condition of power grid components. The unit is equipped with a powerful Beckhoff PLC, enabling flexible programmability and seamless integration with existing systems.
Advanced monitoring and diagnostics. One of the key innovations of the EG3000P is its ability to generate disturbance records—similar to those used in protection relays—for every control event. These records allow operators in the control room to monitor the mechanical condition of disconnectors and detect slow, long-term changes in equipment performance before they lead to failures. This enables a shift from scheduled maintenance to true condition-based maintenance.
Reliability and connectivity. The unit is designed to withstand extreme temperatures and varying weather conditions. It features an intelligent UPS system with battery backup, temperature-controlled heating and ventilation, and comprehensive surge protection. The EG3000P supports a wide range of industry-standard protocols, including IEC 60870-5-101/104, IEC 61850, and OPC UA, making it a future-proof choice for modern power grids. Local operation is made easy with a clear display panel and intuitive controls.

Fully Remotely Controlled and Upgradable
The EG5000 is the most advanced remote terminal unit on the market, designed to realise the vision of a self-healing power grid. The product combines all remote control and monitoring functions of the EG family with world-class fault indication. Its advanced algorithms reliably identify the direction and type of faults across all network topologies, including even the most challenging intermittent earth faults and high-impedance faults before actual tripping occurs.
The uniqueness of the system lies in its automatic switching sequences, which assist operators in fault isolation and the rapid restoration of power. With the EG5000, fault locations can be isolated within minutes, significantly reducing outage durations and improving the quality of power distribution. The system performs continuous condition monitoring of distribution components and the battery system, ensuring it is fully operational precisely when disturbances occur in the network.
Technically, the EG5000 offers high performance: it features a Beckhoff CPU with dual RJ-45 interfaces and continuous current measurement across multiple feeders. The system is fully remote-controlled and upgradable, and it supports a wide range of protocols, including IEC 61850 and IEC 104. The EG5000 is not just a remote terminal unit—it is an intelligent node that enables the management of a modern, automated, and reliable power distribution network.

Trusted by Network Operators Year After Year
The EG3000 is a remote terminal unit optimised for Nordic conditions, specifically designed for the reliable control of switching stations and secondary substations. The system consists of the intelligent EG3000P control unit and powerful EG3000M motor controllers, both tested to withstand even the most demanding weather conditions.
At the core of the system are linear, electric cylinder–type actuators that deliver a consistent force of 2,500 newtons in both directions. Unlike conventional solutions, the EG3000 measures and controls motion speed, force, and position with millimetre precision. A disturbance record is automatically generated for every control operation, enabling continuous monitoring of the disconnector’s mechanical condition and the detection of gradual changes before an actual fault occurs.
The EG3000 is fully scalable and supports all key communication protocols, including IEC 60870-5-101/104, IEC 61850, and OPC UA. The system integrates easily with existing SCADA systems and also enables local control via a clear display panel. It is a cost-effective and durable solution for modernising basic distribution automation.
